Affected dogs usually present in adulthood with gradual muscle Atrophy and loss of coordination typically beginning in the hind limbs due to degeneration of the nerves. Affected dogs may fully lose the ability to walk 6 months to 2 years after the onset of symptoms.

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), also known as Progressive Rod and Cone Degeneration (PRCD), refers to a group of degenerative eye disorders that cause blindness in both eyes.

Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEWS) is defined by signs and symptoms of abnormal neurological function in the first few days of life and more than likely lead to death or euthanasia.

Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD) is a growth and development abnormality of the bone and cartilage which results in lack of normal bone growth and bone deformities.

von Willebrand Disease (vWD) types 1 & 2 is a inherited blood clotting disorder in dogs that can result in excessive, serious bleeding from even a minor skin wound.

GM2 gangliosidosis (Poodle Type) is an inherited lysosomal storage disorder which leads to vision loss, loss of balance, head tremors, and vomiting and usually lead to death within the first year of life

Progressive Retinal Atrophy Golden Retriever Type 1 and 2 (GR-PRA1 and GR-PRA2) is a late-onset of an inherited eye disorder that eventually leads to blindness around 5-7 years of age.

Ichthyosis (Golden Retriever Type) is an autosomal recessive genetic mutation that affects the skin resulting  in darkened, thick, and flakey skin.

Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (DEB) is a hereditary skin disease that results in fragile skin that is easily damaged from rubbing or trauma resulting in blisters, ulcers and scarring of the skin.

Golden Retriever Muscular Dystrophy (GRMD) is an inherited, progressive, and non-inflammatory degenerative muscular disease.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is an inherited autosomal recessive disease also known as canine brittle bone disease. The genetic mutation impairs the normal development of collagen, which causes bones and teeth to be thin and brittle.

Sensory Ataxic Neuropathy (SAN) is an inherited neurologic condition affecting Golden Retrievers. Affected dogs typically present between 2 to 8 months of age with signs of neurologic disease. Symptoms include a lack of muscle coordination, abnormal gait and difficulty balancing especially affecting the hind limbs.
